22 May Flying fish Cove Jetty Extension
Jetty extension at Christmas Island in the Indian Ocean. Transport all plant and materials out to the Island, drive piles, some of which went 56m into the ground before they reached capacity. All site fabricated heavy steel sections, paint system and denso steelcoat400 corrosion protection. Big lower landing built in the tide zone of a very exposed location.

Details of Innovations and extra value for money:
There were issues with piles not gaining sufficient capacity at design embedment. We were able to splice extra pile material on site while complying to a very stringent QA standard in a remote location.
